Trademark and design

K UNIVERSE is a trademark of Karim Varini (Swiss trademark application filed on 22 October 2026 with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property). Pareto Services Sagl uses it under licence. The appearance of the k▪universe interface, the visualisation of books as themes orbiting a centre, is the subject of a Swiss design application by Karim Varini.

The live example

The example shown on the home page is the personal library of Karim Varini, published with his consent. Book titles and covers belong to their authors and publishers and are shown only to identify the books.

What data we process, and why

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Service providers and transfers abroad

Some of these providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Where those countries do not offer a level of protection recognised as adequate by Switzerland or the EU, transfers rely on the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

We delete messages that do not lead to a business relationship at the latest 24 months after our last exchange. Business correspondence and records are kept for as long as Swiss law requires, generally 10 years (Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations). Technical data is kept by our hosting provider only for a short period for security purposes.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nDSG) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, restrict it or receive a copy of it. Write to [email protected]. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you live in the EU, the data protection authority of your country.
