1. Who we are
k▪universe is a service of Pareto Services Sagl, Via Centro TV 23, 6949 Comano, Switzerland (details in the imprint). It lets you build a map of the books you have read, are reading or want to read, and show it on k-universe.com or on your own website.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email: keep access to that mailbox for yourself. One account per person; the address of your universe (k-universe.com/…) must not imitate other people, brands or organisations.
3. Your list is yours
Everything you add remains yours. You can take your book list with you at any time: download it free of charge as CSV or JSON from your account page, whatever plan you have and even after a paid plan ends. You can delete your account and all your books yourself at any time.
So that we can run the service, you give Pareto Services Sagl a limited, free licence to store, process and display your content only to provide k▪universe to you, and to show it publicly only if you make your universe public. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
4. Private by default
Your universe is private until you make it public. If you make it public, anyone with its address can see it, and you are responsible for what you choose to show. You can make it private again at any time.
5. What you may not do
Do not upload unlawful content, content that infringes the rights of others, or personal data of other people. Do not try to access other accounts, overload the service or copy it automatically. We may remove unlawful content and suspend accounts that break these terms; where possible, we tell you first and you can still download your list.
6. Books, covers and titles
Titles, authors and covers belong to their authors and publishers and are shown only to identify the books.
7. Our trademark, design and code
K UNIVERSE is a trademark of Karim Varini, used under licence by Pareto Services Sagl; the k▪universe interface is the subject of a design application. The software, the visualisation and the look of the service remain ours. Using k▪universe gives you no rights to them beyond using the service, including the code to show your universe on your website.
8. Price
The basic service is free and shows a small “made with k▪universe” mark. When we offer a paid plan (for example, your universe on your own domain without the mark), its price, duration and what it includes are shown before you pay, and the terms of sale are accepted separately. Exporting your list is never part of a paid plan: it is free for everyone.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep k▪universe available and secure, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change the service or these terms; we tell you about important changes by email at least 30 days in advance. If we ever close the service, we give you at least 60 days’ notice so you can download your list.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Mandatory consumer protection rules remain unaffected.
11. Privacy
How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy.
12. Law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies. The courts of Lugano have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory rules that give consumers the right to sue at their place of residence.
These terms exist in Italian and English; in case of differences, the Italian version prevails.
